1:30 Special Hazard Flood Properties: Johnnie Miller and Marty Stevens
Under flood policies in the U.S., any building located in a Special Hazard Flood Area (SHFA) automatically has a deductible equal to the amount of insurance the owner could have purchased through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) which is currently $500,000 per building/$500,000 contents. UCIP has worked with its reinsurer and brokers to streamline the process for you to secure NFIP coverage to avoid this potential $1,000,000 deductible.
2:45 Claim Strategies: Korby Siggard
When it comes right down to it, handling claims is the foundation of what UCIP does for its members, and we take that very seriously. Korby will discuss some of the strategies UCIP utilizes to defend liability claims to assure each member understands that we recognize we are helping you defend your claim, rather than simply looking for the cheapest way for UCIP to dispose of the claim.
3:15 Facility Use Agreements/Online Event Insurance: Johnnie Miller and Marty Stevens
UCIP has adopted several changes to the Tenant User Liability Insurance Program (TULIP) to assure compliance with all state regulations. Through the process, we have identified options that we think will provide you and those who want to use your facilities better coverage at less cost, with less red tape.
4:00 Changes to the Underwriting Process: Sonya White
UCIP has been working with its actuaries to study improved underwriting and rating methods for several years. The UCIP Board adopted an updated underwriting and rating methodology recommended by staff which will better recognize the risks that lead to loss while making the annual exposure update process less cumbersome for you and UCIP staff. Sonya will review the changes to the process and what it means for you when reporting exposures for 2018.
4:30 Training Resources: Marty Stevens, UCIP Operations Specialist
UCIP continues to expand the training resources available to its members, and we want to make sure each member takes full advantage of these valuable resources.
